Giving priorities at the College of Public Health

At the University of Georgia College of Public Health, a single individual can shape generations to come—whether as a faculty member sharing knowledge, an administrator strengthening the institution, or a donor investing in students and building a lasting foundation for learning.

Creating a legacy at UGA is more attainable than you might expect. By investing in our priorities, you can make a meaningful impact today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

Unrestricted Support

Unrestricted support through the College of Public Health Fund powers the College’s capacity to innovate and thrive in an increasingly competitive environment. Today, 100 percent of undesignated gifts are directed toward essential priorities, including daily operating expenses, student scholarships, travel support, and more.

Need & Merit-based Scholarships

When the nation’s top students consider where to pursue advanced degrees, financial support often influences their decision. Even with assistantships and other aid, graduate education can leave a significant funding gap. For many students, covering housing, food, transportation, course materials, and other essential expenses falls entirely on their shoulders. Need- and merit-based scholarships allow our graduate and professional students to concentrate on advancing their meaningful work—without the constant concern of how to afford it.

Student Emergency Funding

Entirely dependent upon private support, the Student Emergency Fund provides financial assistance to currently enrolled UGA College of Public Health students whose tenure at the university may be at risk because of unforeseen emergency expenses surrounding situations such as accidents, illness, death of a family member, fire damage or need for temporary housing.

Faculty & Research Support

As a leading American research university grounded in a land- and sea-grant mission, the College of Public Health drives academic innovation and meaningful impact. Support for research equips faculty with essential internal funding, strengthens a vibrant scholarly community, and cultivates valuable partnerships between the College and accomplished professionals.
