A recent study from Changwei Li used metabolomics to pinpoints lifestyle factors that could lead to hardened arteries, an independent risk factor for heart disease and death. The findings were reported via the Athens Banner Herald, Science Daily, Cardiovascular Business, Live Past 100 Well, Industry Herald24, and Health News Digest.

Sarah DeYoung was quoted in a recent article on Gizmodo’s Earther examining why people end up leaving their pets behind in a disaster. DeYoung leads the Pets & Evacuation Research Project, a National Science Foundation-funded endeavor that seeks to investigate why animal evacuation does or doesn’t work during disasters.

Grace Bagwell Adams, principal investigator of the Athens Wellbeing Project, and Erin Barger, project manager of Envision Athens, discussed behavioral health options around Athens Clarke County, community health goals, and limitations facing those in need of assistance on WUGA FM’s Athens News Matters.
