UGA College of Public Health news and media mentions for the month of October 2019:

Kerstin Emerson, a clinical associate professor at the UGA Institute of Gerontology, spoke to Athens CEO about how the Institute’s mission to reframe aging through partnerships with local clinics and hospitals focused on gerontology research.

Research by Maite Bucher, a doctoral student in the Department of Environmental Health Science, was recently featured as a part of the 2019 iBiology Young Scientist Seminar Series.  Bucher, who was selected in 2019 as one of iBiology’s seminar finalists, is studying how to better evaluate the health of our ocean’s coral reefs.  View the seminar video here.

A preview of the 2019 State of the Public’s Health conference was featured on WGAU FM.

Anne Marie Zimeri, associate professor of environmental health sciences, served as co-author and advisor on a study examining pesticide contamination in Central Kentucky urban honey. The study, led by a Eastern Kentucky University MPH student, made the cover of the July/August 2018 edition of the Journal of Environmental Health and was featured in the North Kentucky Tribune, Richmond Register, and WKRC TV Cincinnati.
