Delta Omega Announces 2010 Student Poster Session Winners

The Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health will be sponsoring its 13th Annual Student Poster Session through the Academic Public Health Caucus during the 138th American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Denver, CO. Local chapters of Delta Omega from CEPH-accredited schools and programs of public health submitted many excellent nominations.

Nineteen students were selected to present at the poster session, which will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m. (MST) on Monday, November 8 in the Colorado Convention Center.

The 2010 poster session will showcase the excellent scholarship and research of students in accredited schools and programs of public health. This opportunity was created by Delta Omega to encourage and recognize the public health leaders of tomorrow.

“Thank you so much to the chapters who encouraged students and faculty to participate in our poster competition. These students are involved in so many quality projects and research,” said Dr. Amy Lee, national president of Delta Omega. “This event has truly grown to be competitive, illustrating the excellence in public health academics and research.”

The student selected to present at the 2010 Poster Session from the University of Georgia College of Public Health is:

  • Li Xu (Ph.D. Toxicology candidate in Environmental Health), “Oxidative DNA Damage and Human Esophageal Cancer Risk in Huaian, China,” nominated by the Beta Chi Chapter, University of Georgia College of Public Health.
