The University of Georgia requires advising appointments prior to registration for each semester. At the College of Public Health, our academic advisors in the CPH Office of Academic Affairs assist students in planning class schedules, registering for courses, and becoming familiar with their program of study.

UGA New Student Orientation

Given the effect of COVID-19 on our campus and world, UGA’s New Student Orientation will be delivered virtually this summer. UGA’s online New Student Orientation experience will consist of online orientation learning modules, opportunities to connect virtually with other incoming and current UGA students, and webinars around certain topics that will help create a successful transition for our incoming students. New students will receive detailed emails from New Student Orientation in the upcoming weeks with details and instructions.

If you have any questions about the Online New Student Orientation Experience, visit UGA’s online orientation FAQs or email the NSO team at

Remote Advising for Spring & Summer 2020

As the University is taking precautions to ensure the health of our students, faculty and staff, the College of Public Health Office of Undergraduate Advising will be using Microsoft Teams to conduct virtual appointments.  We will not be able to meet with students for in-person appointments.

To use Microsoft Teams, you will need access to a computer or smart device, an internet connection, and your UGA Email. If you are using a smart device, you will need to download the Microsoft Teams App. If you do not have access to any of these components, please contact your advisor via email. We will work with you to find a solution.

Prior to your appointment, you will receive an email from your advisor with a website link to join the Microsoft Teams meeting. Please click on the link when you are ready to join the meeting during your scheduled time. You can download instructions explaining how to join a meeting here.   The Microsoft Teams virtual meeting can be in video, audio, or messaging form. We will complete your Advisement Form during the meeting, and we will send you a copy of the form in the messages feature.

Thank you for your patience during this time.  We look forward to supporting and continuing to serve you in whatever ways we can.

**If you have NOT scheduled an advising appointment for Fall registration, please do so in SAGE as soon as possible.   If you need to reach your advisor or the college for support, please use your UGA email and send an email to our offices.   At this time, this will be the fastest way to receive a response.    Office phone numbers will no longer be a resource at this time.

For current information on UGA’s Pandemic Response Plan, make sure to check your UGA email often and visit

Who is my CPH advisor?

All students in a public health major are assigned a staff advisor in the new UGA advising system, SAGE. You can find your “Primary Advisor” listed in your network.

How do I make an advising appointment?

[REMOTE ADVISING IS NOW UNDERWAY FOR SPRING 2020. See instructions at top of page.]

Each semester your advisor will let you know when you can log into SAGE and schedule your appointment with them.

To schedule an appointment with your advisor, go to and log in with your MyID and password.  Once you’re logged in, click the “My Success Network” option in the left menu, find your primary advisor, and  then click “Schedule an Appointment.”

PLEASE NOTE: Within the first 6 weeks of so of the semester, a number of our CPH academic advisors advise 4th year students, followed by 3rd year students in the health promotion major.  After this time, these advisors will then open their calendars to all students. An email will be sent when general advising hours are posted.

If you encounter difficulties or your advisor does not appear to have any open appointments, please email your advisor. Students who need to cancel or reschedule an appointment must do so 24 hours in advance.

Where are CPH advisement offices located?

The offices of our CPH advisors are located in the Ramsey Student Center on Main Campus and Wright Hall on the Health Sciences Campus. Please reference the CPH Advising Center contact list for office locations.
