CPH Chat with a Changemaker – AdeSubomi Adeyemo (BS ’11, PharmD ’15, MPH ’16)
Join us Tuesday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom for our next CPH “Chat with a Changemaker” of the academic year. Our guest will be AdeSubomi (Subomi) Adeyemo (BS ’11, PharmD ’15, MPH ’16), a U.S. Public Health Officer, pharmacist and epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Adeyemo was the first student to complete the dual Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health program at UGA. She was a Presidential Management Fellow in the Division of Global HIV & TB, joined the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, and later the Division of Parasitic Diseases and Malaria through the Epidemic Intelligence Service fellowship program. She has participated in domestic and global studies, investigations, and public health surveillance of infectious diseases, including deployments to support the COVID-19 and poliovirus response efforts. Additionally, Dr. Adeyemo co-founded an outreach program focused on educating elementary students about the importance of self-monitoring of health, preventative care, medication safety, and higher education in the STEM disciplines. Dr. Adeyemo was recently recognized as part of UGA’s 40 Under 40 class of 2022.
This series (previous branded as the Black Alumni Connection Conversation Series) launched to in 2021 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of desegregation at UGA and honor CPH changemakers of color, is hosted by the CPH Alumni Board.
