Doctoral Dissertation Defense: Bowen Tang, Ph.D. in environmental health science
Bowen Tang, a Ph.D. candidate in Dr. Lili Tang’s lab in the Department of Environmental Health Science, will defend her doctoral dissertation – “Studies on the roles of host, microbes, and chemicals interactions in nematode Caenorhabditis elegans” – on Fri. April 9 at 11:30 a.m. via Zoom Meeting.
Bowen Tang received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering and Pharmacology from Nanjing Tech University in 2009 and 2013, respectively. Her dissertation research focuses on studying the 3-way microbe-host-chemicals interactions in Caenorhabditis elegans. She developed a model organism, C. elegans-based high-throughput screening platform to investigate the microbial signatures that modulate the host’s response to the natural carcinogen, aflatoxin B1
