Megan Beaudry, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Environmental Health Science, will defend her doctoral dissertation – “Microbiome, Resistome, and Whole Genome: Capturing DNA Sequences to Improve Public Health” – on Wednesday, February 9 at 9:00 a.m. on Zoom. Megan Beaudry is a PhD Candidate in Environmental Health Science with a research focus on public health microbiology. Her doctoral research entails developing novel next-generation sequencing technologies to address microbial public health issues, including studies on the environmental microbiome, antimicrobial resistance, and the whole genome of human infecting Cryptosporidium spp. She received a Master of Science from the University of Alberta in 2018, where she studied environmental microbiology with a focus on water quality, and a Bachelor of Science from Keene State College in 2015.
