This week’s guest speakers are: Kiara Maddox, MPH, Workforce and Fellowship Coordinator, Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists
Speaker Bios: Kiara Maddox earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Spelman College and Masters Degree in Public Health from Emory University. She currently serves as the Workforce and Fellowship Coordinator at the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists managing much of the Applied Epidemiology Fellowship Program. Prior to this, she worked as a CDC Public Health Associate at the Tennessee Department of Health for nearly two years. There, she focused on vector-borne disease surveillance and monitoring. Ms. Maddox also spent much of her public health career conducting infectious disease research. For two years, she worked as a researcher on Emory University School of Medicine’s Women’s Interagency HIV Study. There she worked to better understand the development of HIV infections in both treated and untreated women.
The seminar will take place on Fri. October 11, 2019 in Room 217 of Russell Hall on the UGA Health Sciences Campus.
