About OEI: The Office of Evaluation and Inspections (OEI), is a subcomponent of the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services. They strive to protect the integrity of Federal programs and the health and welfare of the individuals these programs serve. Their evaluations synthesize high-quality research that promote positive change throughout all types of HHS programs (Medicare, Medicaid, CDC, FDA, NIH, and more). Their work helps fight and stop health care fraud, waste, and abuse throughout the country; protect vulnerable populations; and ensure the quality of health care services nationwide.
