Special Presentation – Crisis Pregnancy Center Map
All are welcome for a special presentation Tues. Sept. 18 on Crisis Pregnancy Center Map (crisispregnancentermap.com), a new online geolocated directory of crisis pregnancy centers in the United States. The seminar will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Room 235 of Russell Hall on the UGA Health Sciences Campus.
Crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) have a primary mission of preventing abortion. Although CPCs are growing in prominence and increasingly publicly funded, social awareness is low and evidence about their public health impact is limited. The goals of CPC Map, launched in September 2018 by a team of researchers from the UGA College of Public Health, are to 1) Help individuals seeking health services know which centers are CPCs, and 2) Facilitate academic research.
