Spillover: A One Health Infectious Disease Outbreak Simulation
Are you interested in participating in an Infectious Disease Outbreak Simulation with your peers from the greater graduate school community at UGA? In other words, a One Health workshop that includes students in veterinary medicine, human medicine, and public health. Do you want to receive hands-on training from world-renowned experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) ?
You are invited to participate in Spillover: A One Health Outbreak Simulation! It will be your job to work with peers from the College of Public Health, College of Veterinary Medicine, and AU/UGA Medical Partnership to solve a disease outbreak scenario in the Athens community. Guided by experts from the CDC and local health professionals, you must collaborate with your fellow One Health team to crack the case!
The full-day event will take place on Saturday January 26, 2019 from 8am – 5pm at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine at 501 D. W. Brooks Drive, Athens, GA .
An additional event (optional) is scheduled for Friday January 25, 2019 from 6:30pm-8:30pm, which will serve as an opportunity to network with public health professionals and other graduate students at the University of Georgia.
Participation will be limited to 48 individuals and will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. The link to sign-up is attached below. If you are not chosen to participate during the initial selection process, you may choose to be added to a waiting list.
