MPH student Osama Hashmi wins UGA Top Entrepreneur Award

osama-hashmiOsama Hashmi, an Honors student working on both his B.S. Biology and MPH in health policy and management, has been selected at the as UGA’s “Next Top Entrepreneur” for his company Vitamin C, according the the Athens Banner Herald.

Hashmi, with Vitamin C lead developer Jordan Burke, is developing software that will allow physicians and other caregivers to easily track how well patients are progressing during treatment or rehabilitation, through simple but direct feedback from patients over the Internet.

UGA’s Next Top Entrepreneur is an annual campus-wide contest offered through the Terry College of Business Entrepreneurship Program. Student entrepreneurs compete for prize money and potential venture and angel investment capital. Through a series of information sessions, seminars, and individual coaching sessions, students learn how to properly strategize and pitch a business plan.
