The aging and gerontology research work group fosters innovation in research, education, and outreach for older populations.
We advance our healthy aging mission through collaborative strengths in mental health and cognition, technology innovation, and positive lifestyle promotion. The working group focuses on interventions and policies to enhance healthy aging, alleviate health disparities, and promote well-being. Many of the working group members focus on addressing rural health throughout the state of Georgia, particularly within the areas of cognitive aging and dementia education, diagnosis, and support. Members of the working group are actively collaborating with a variety of departments, colleges, and disciplines, including but not limited to social work, neuroscience, pharmacy, counseling psychology, and geriatrics.
