Anna Elizabeth Austin

Master of Health Administration (MHA)

I am a second-year Master of Health Administration (MHA) student in the University of Georgia’s College of Public Health. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science with a concentration in Family Services from Georgia Southern University in 2025. My background sparked my interest in working with older adults and understanding how healthcare organizations can support individuals and their families.

Through my MHA program and professional experiences, I have developed a strong interest in healthcare operations, quality management and improvement, and long-term care administration. During the summer of 2026, I served as a Healthcare Services Intern at Presbyterian Village Athens, where I gained hands-on experience in healthcare operations, resident care coordination, wellness programming, and collaboration across clinical and administrative teams. This experience further strengthened my interest in senior living and long-term care and showed me how quality and effective operations can directly influence the resident experience.

At UGA, I serve as Social Chair on the MHA Executive Board, where I help plan events and initiatives that promote student engagement, connection, and professional development. I hope to build a career in healthcare administration and eventually serve in leadership roles within long-term care, senior living, or other healthcare organizations.

My background in Human Development and Family Science gave me a strong foundation in understanding individuals, families, and the aging process. As I transitioned into health administration, I became interested in how healthcare organizations can combine compassionate, person-centered care with strong operations and effective leadership. My experiences at UGA and Presbyterian Village Athens have continued to shape my interest in senior living, long-term care, and improving the quality of care and services provided to older adults.
