Anna Wiggins

Undergraduate Ambassador

Undergraduate Ambassador, Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion (BSHP)

My name is Anna Wiggins, and I am a fourth year Health Promotion major with an emphasis in Health Services from Twin City, GA. After graduating, I plan to attend medical school in hopes to specialize in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. My goal is to work in a Children’s Hospital and hopefully start a nonprofit organization that helps people, especially children, in low-income households. As a physician, I will have the opportunity to help children as well as encourage healthy behaviors at a young age.

When I first started UGA I was a Biology major, but after researching other majors, I switched to the College of Public Health. I wanted to pursue a major I was passionate about, and the College of Public Health was the best fit. I was excited to learn how I could help the community as a whole as well as one individual at a time. Through the College of Public Health, I have taken several classes that have allowed me to learn skills that I will use throughout my career. Outside of the College of Public Health, I have volunteered with Oasis Tutoring, Mercy Health Center, and Piedmont Athens Regional. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
