Aya Mansour

Undergraduate Ambassador, Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion (BSHP)

My name is Aya Mansour and I’m a third-year Health Promotion major with a Pre-PA intent from Lawrenceville, Georgia. I’ve always known that I wanted to do something hands on in the medical field but when the Syrian civil war started I realized that I wanted to do more for citizens that were forced to leave their war torn countries. I’ve seen the effects that UNICEF and other nonprofit organization had on Syria and how their policies can impact everyone’s day to day life there. Because of organizations like that my ultimate goal in life is to one-day work with UNICEF to implement medical care and policies towards countries that are war torn and have refugee camps in need of medical aid.

With that being said, College of Public Health not only gets me one step closer to accomplishing my goal but this college has also given me the tools to aid the knowledge I’ve gained in my science classes with a more creative approach. This major provides students with a more interactive/hands on approach which makes this major even more interesting/relatable to what’s actually going on in the world. CPH has also exposed me to a much more different aspect of the healthcare, sparking my interest in health policy and implementation. Pursuing this major will provide me the tools to help create a healthier community and more importantly improve global health. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
