Brianna Alvarado

Undergraduate Student Ambassador

Undergraduate Ambassador, Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion (BSHP)

Hi everyone! My name is Brianna Alvarado, I am a fourth year Health Promotion-Health Services major and Portuguese minor from Cumming, GA! Coming to UGA I knew I wanted to do something in the healthcare field, specifically PA. Before orientation I looked at the majors that intrigued me most and after attending an information session about the health promotion major, I was sold!  I liked how the major gives you a holistic introduction to the healthcare field. I felt that if I learned more about behind the scenes, I would grasp a better understanding of what the healthcare field entailed.  After graduation, I am taking a gap year to gain direct patient hours before applying to PA school. I hope to serve underserved communities and plan on addressing barriers minorities face when it comes to healthcare to help bridge the gap. Go Dawgs!
