Master of Public Health (MPH)

Kara Jackson is an MPH student concentrating in disaster management. She has an interest in the public health, communications (particularly excellent at plain language and breaking down complex topics for anyone to understand), and the preparedness/mitigation aspects of emergency management. Kara finds the effect disasters have on a community can be effectively lessened with these tools and are imperative in ensuring a rapid recovery following any disastrous event. She looks forward most to applying her skill set in these facets of disaster management and educating the public to improve health from a preparedness aspect. She chose the UGA College of Public Health for the top tier professors it provides in both areas of interest.
