Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology & Biostatistics
Mechelle Claridy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Spelman College. She obtained her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from Morehouse School of Medicine. Her research while completing her MPH focused on the health information seeking behaviors of adult survivors of childhood cancer and also the risk factors and surveillance for reduced bone mineral density in childhood cancer survivors. Her current research interests are social and clinical epidemiology with an emphasis on maternal and child health. She is interested in maternal and infant morbidities and mortality. She is also a mentor in the PRIME workgroup and serves as GSEB Vice President of Epidemiology.
