Purnima Yalavarty

Master of Health Administration (MHA)

I am a first-year Master of Health Administration student at the University of Georgia. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, where I also completed minors in Political Science and Public Health. This interdisciplinary foundation has shaped my interest in the intersection of healthcare and public policy, particularly how administrative and regulatory decisions influence access, equity, and the patient experience.

My academic and professional experiences have strengthened my commitment to understanding and improving healthcare systems. I am especially interested in regulatory affairs, health equity, and expanding access to high-quality care. Seeing firsthand how policy and operational choices affect patients has motivated me to pursue roles where I can contribute to more effective, equitable, and patient-centered systems.

In the long term, I hope to combine my training in healthcare administration with my passion for public service to help build healthcare environments that are accessible, efficient, and responsive to community needs.
