Topic: Nature and Human Health Connection: Why the Outdoors Matter
Mondira Bardhan, Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Warnell School of Forestry and NaturalResources, University of Georgia. She is interested ina simple but important idea: the places around us can shape our health and well-being. Her work examines how nature and outdoor spaces can support human health and help communities respond to various environmental challenges. Trees and natural spaces shape our health in ways that go far beyond makingour communities greener. They can provide relief from extreme heat, create opportunities to connect and recharge, and support our physical and mental well-being. This presentation will takea closer look at these connections, share stories and findings from my research, and explore why trees matterfor healthier communities.
