Designed to complement required courses for majors in the College of Public Health, participating in the certificate program can give students the advantage of a wider outlook and exposure to other interests that, upon graduation, will make them more competitive in the job market.

Requirements for certificates are flexible to allow for each student’s particular interests. Courses can be taken as part of the curriculum for a specific major or as extra courses beyond those needed for the degree.

The College of Public Health offers certificate programs through the following departments and research institutes: the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, the Department of Health Policy and Management,  the Department of Health Promotion and Behavior, the Global Health Institute, the Institute of Gerontology, and the Institute for Disaster Management.
