EHS & IOG Teaching Seminar – Jack Harth
Please join the Environmental Health Science Department and the Institute of Gerontology for Lecturer candidate Jack Harth’s teaching seminar, “Food for Thought:
How Diet Shapes the Aging Brain” on Monday, February 23, from 11:00 AM – 11:55 AM at Rhodes Hall, Room 031 on the Health Sciences Campus.
Dr. Jacob (Jack) Harth is an Assistant Research Scientist in UGA’s Institute of Gerontology who studies how light and nutrition influence vision, brain function, and
healthy aging. Trained in visual neuroscience, he uses psychophysics and nutritional biomarkers to connect environmental exposures with real-world sensory performance. Dr. Harth has taught lecture and lab courses across neuroscience, psychology, gerontology, biology, chemistry, and behavioral statistics. As a mentor committed to individualized and collaborative learning, Dr. Harth involves students in every stage of the research process and focuses on building practical skills and foundational knowledge to help students identify and pursue their goals.
