We are pleased to welcome Dr. Elizabeth Riegelman, candidate for the EHS Non-Tenure Track Clinical Assistant Professor position, for a teaching seminar on Monday, October 20th!

She holds a PhD in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia, an MPH in Environmental Health Science and a BS in Biological Science from Georgia Southern University. Her research focuses on the One Health Paradigm and the microbiome’s role in human, animal, and environmental health, recognizing that microbial communities can transfer between these domains and influence health, disease, and aging. She studies evidence-based strategies that integrate microbiome science into holistic health and environmental management practices. Her goal is to advance the Microbiome One Health framework by defining the roles of interconnected microbiomes in human and animal health and help develop strategies to foster resilient, diverse microbial communities across human-influenced ecosystems.
