Ahmed Ehsanur Rahman

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Services Research and Policy

I am a physician by training and currently serve as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Public Health (Health Policy & Management) at the University of Georgia. I earned my medical degree from Dhaka Medical College, University of Dhaka, completed my Master of Public Health at the James P. Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, and received my PhD in Global Health from the University of Edinburgh.

I also serve as an International Scientist in the Maternal and Child Health Division at icddr,b, an international health research organization based in Bangladesh. My research interests center on maternal, newborn, and child health; health systems strengthening; and the use of technological, social, and behavioral innovations to improve the coverage and quality of care. I have particular expertise in health services research, implementation research, and population-based surveys, with a focus on generating evidence to inform policy, programs, and practice in low- and middle-income settings.

Roles and Responsibilities

As an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the College of Public Health, I contribute to teaching, research, and academic service within the Department of Health Policy and Management. My responsibilities include supporting graduate and professional education through guest lectures, course instruction, and student mentoring; collaborating on interdisciplinary research initiatives; and providing subject-matter expertise in global health, maternal and child health, and health systems research. I also engage in scholarly activities that strengthen the College’s research mission and foster partnerships between UGA and international public health institutions.
