Health Promotion & Behavior

As an applied researcher, Dr Wang leverages her expertise in public health and social psychology, particularly in social influence, relationships, and media effects to design and evaluate digital interventions aimed at optimizing mental health outcomes. She specializes in interventions that utilize everyday technology, such as sensors and mobile phones, to capture real-time responses and provide just-in-time, personalized feedback, also known as just-in-time adaptive interventions (JITAI).

Her work is dedicated to advancing social justice by optimizing access to digital interventions, reducing health risks, and improving outcomes for marginalized populations, particularly disenfranchised youth, including those in foster care, living in poverty, involved in the juvenile justice system, experiencing homelessness, and underrepresented LGBT youth. Before joining the University of Georgia, Dr. Wang was a senior staff scientist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
