Child Abuse and Neglect as a Public Health Crisis: Explanation and Prevention

This week’s guest speaker: Sallie Zehna Starrett, CEO, Brightpaths (Prevent Child Abuse Athens)

About the speaker: Sallie has a BS in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia and over a decade of experience working in the non-profit sector, with an emphasis on child welfare and family preservation. She is an Athens native, mom of 2, and she and her husband are Clarke County foster parents who focus on the reunification of families. Sallie believes that all children deserve a safe and healthy childhood, and that all adults have a part to play in making that happen.

The seminar will take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in the Wright Hall Annex Auditorium (Room 150). Check back for details. Everyone is welcome to attend! For more information, contact Amy Winter.
