The countdown to the start of the Fall semester has begun, and the College of Public Health has been hard at work over the summer to welcome our faculty, staff and students back as safely and as possible.
And you may be wondering, what can I expect when I come back to the Health Sciences Campus or CPH spaces on the main campus? Below we share some examples on what campus will look like.
But first – in case you missed it, UGA has been sending weekly updates to faculty and staff and to students with need-to-know information about campus operations, instruction, and health and safety protocols. All campus messages are archived on UGA’s coronavirus resource page.
Health and Safety Messaging
Throughout campus, signs are posted to –
- Remind you to check and log your symptoms in DawgCheck before entering a UGA building.
- Remind you to wear a mask on campus when social distancing isn’t possible.
- Remind you to stay six feet apart from other people.
- Communicate occupancy rules for elevators and restrooms.
Classrooms & Common Use Spaces
- Signs noting room capacities will be posted outside each classroom and conference room.
- Desks and seats will be socially distanced, with signs or ‘Xs’ marking where you can sit.
Sanitation
- Sanitation stations are set up around campus. Sanitation wipes should be used to wipe down surfaces and aren’t meant to replace hand washing or hand sanitizers.
Safe Study Spaces
The Health Sciences Campus has great options for studying and working outdoors. Here are few of our favorites. NOTE: Some porch areas may be used for classroom space.
- Rhodes Hall porch
- Rhodes Hall Garden Level patios
- HSC lawns
- Miller Hall porch
- Russell Hall 2nd floor patio
On main campus, there are several outdoor study spaces around the Environmental Health Sciences building. Check out –
- The Creamery
- Brooks Mall on South Campus
