Mark Ebell, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics, helped unravel the CDC’s most recent mask recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated people on WUGA-FM’s Athens News Matters.
Travis Glenn, professor of environmental health science, explained the rationale behind the CDC’s recent mask recommendations and when and where masks may still be a necessity on WUGA-FM.

This past year, CPH students Emily Buchanan, Stephanie Andino, Noor Khan, Krishnasai Kodali, and Emily Townsend worked with the Northeast Georgia Health District and UGA Athletics to increase safety awareness about COVID-19. Grady Newsource profiled the campaign and its impacts.
Adam Chen, associate professor of health policy and management, was quoted in a Macon Telegraph article exploring why Georgia, still far from achieving herd immunity, was closing some of its mass vaccination sites. Chen also spoke to XinhuaNet about the need for enhanced international cooperation, particularly between China and the United States, in a post-pandemic world.

Cordero, physician and head of epidemiology and biostatistics, was co-author of a study from the University of Michigan which found that exposure to a chemical found in the weed killer Roundup and other glyphosate-based herbicides is significantly associated with preterm births.
