Environmental health science alumnus Emily Hanson Scofield was featured in the Winter 2014 issue of UGA Graduate School magazine.
Scofield graduated from UGA with a Master of Environmental Health Science in 1999 and has enjoyed a successful career promoting sustainability and environmental initiatives in the state of North Carolina. in Jan 2013, she facilitated a merger of the three USGBC chapters in North Carolina into one statewide organization, of which she became the executive director. Just since January, the alumna has earned a $100,000 grant and secured more than $40,000 for the chapter’s annual Partnership Campaign.
Scofield continues to communicate regularly with politicians, corporate executives and students to promote healthy, high-performing communities. This past year, she was recognized as one of UGA’s 40 Under 40.
